AA

AA Ringette incorporates elite training and competition, a supportive team environment and the encouragement of a healthy and active lifestyle, exclusively to female athletes.

AA is offered at the U14, U16 and U19 age levels. Currently in Manitoba we have three identified catchment areas that host one or more AA teams. Bonivital Angels (which include Bonivital and Transcona Ringette Associations), Eastman Flames (Eastman Ringette Association), and Magic (St. James, North Winnipeg, River East, Macdonald and Interlake).

Our AA teams compete in a league which begins in October. In February teams will participate in the Ringette Manitoba Provincial Championships. The first and second place teams in the U16 and U19 age levels advance to the Canadian Ringette Championship. The first and second place teams in the U14 age levels advance to the Western Canadian Ringette Championships.

Time commitments for AA vary by team and between age levels. A good guideline is:

  • Approximately 2-3 weekly ringette sessions (ice and dryland) 60-90 minutes each.
  • Approximately 18 games, but may vary depending on the amount of teams in the loop.
  • Practices and League game days will vary depending on ice availability.
  • Teams will participate in tournaments, typically 3-4 in a season depending on the age group and competitive level of the team; 1 or 2 of those tournaments may include an out of province trip.
