Westerns (WCRC)

The first Western Canadian Ringette Championship (WCRC) event was held in 1997 involving four U14 AA teams. In 2002 it expanded to include the U16 A division, U19 A was added in 2003 and Open in 2009. The WCRC is a showcase for teams and players to demonstrate sport excellence and athletic achievement. Attending the WCRC to declare a Western Champion is a goal for local and provincial teams that value the competitive aspect of the sport.

In Manitoba the 1st and 2nd place teams in the U14 AA Provincials attend WCRC with no pickup players. The U16 A, U19 A Gold Medalists an Open representative attend WCRC as Team Manitoba and are permitted to pick up players to supplement their roster. In a year that Manitoba is hosting the event the second place team at Provincials in the U16 A, U19 A and Open divisions will attend as the host team.

2024 WCRC will be hosted in Calgary, March 27-31, 2024
