U14 High Performance Coach Development

Ringette Manitoba is looking for coaches who are interested in participating in a development program to further their education as a coach and to potentially be selected as part of the team staff for one of the U14 teams selected to attend the 2023 Western Canadian Ringette Championships.

Coaches will participate on the same ice times as the players who are registered in the U14 High Performance Development Program. The players will be led by instructors while the registered coaches will participate on and off the ice with a coach mentor. When players are in the gym doing their dryland workouts, coaches will have scheduled classroom sessions with their mentor.

South will run the following Sundays at Southdale Community Centre:
Sept 18th – 5:00pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Sept 25th – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Oct 2nd – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Oct 16th – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Oct 23rd – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Oct 30th – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Nov 6th – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)
Nov 13th – 4:45pm (ice time) 6:15pm (classroom session)

North sessions will run the following Sundays at Seven Oaks Arena:

There will also be a development camps Nov 19th and 20th at Seven Oaks Arena, and January 14 and 15 Location TBA. These are full weekend development camps that require your availability for the entire two days.

It is recommended that you attend all sessions to optimize your learning experience. The weekend camps will see the coaches learning to evaluate and select a team in November.

The team staff for the two teams will be selected in November. Those individuals will participate at the January camp and will be a part of selecting the final team rosters. Following the January camp, coaches are to be available for ALL team events and competitions, including the qualification round for the title of ‘Team Manitoba’ that will take place during
Provincials (dates TBD).

You can participate in this program whether or not you wish to be selected as a coach for one of the teams. You will be asked to indicate your intention when you apply.

Coaches eligible for this program who are vying for a spot on the team staff:
– Must have been coaching for a minimum of 2 years and have an NCCP status in CSI or CI. If applying for a head coach position it is recommended that you have a minimum of 4 years experience.
– Must not be listed on another roster at a level who may attend Western Canadian Ringette Championships.
– Must be able to meet the coaching requirements for U14 AA by the January 15th deadline (see below link for all requirements).
– It is preferred that there will be no parent coaches on team rosters once teams are selected. As there are two teams being chosen a coach can be on team A while their player is on Team B.
