Ringette Manitoba has designed the Open Elite League for adult players who have the desire to play at a high calibre level, but do not have the desire to play NRL. The number of teams in the league may vary by season, however there have historically been 6 teams that participate in the league. Starting this season Open Elite has joined the AA program and will be run by the AA committee. The league will follow all Ringette Canada and Ringette Manitoba rules.
The 2023/24 season registration will be $7600.00 per team for up to 20 players. Any player registering above the 20 will need to pay an extra $80. All teams must have a minimum of 12 skaters and 1 goalie registered on their roster. The season will start October 1st and will have approx. 24 league games with other Open Elite teams and the U19AA teams. All games will count towards season standings. The games will be 4 periods of 10 minutes each, have 2 officials and a Shot Clock.
Coaches are not required on the bench for season play. A non player coach will be required on the bench if a team participates in Westerns. To qualify as a Coach only a Bench Code signature is required (No certification needed). Temporary Players are permitted to bring the bench up to a max 10 skaters and 1 goalie. TP’s may be drawn laterally from other OE teams or a lower-level Open team. TP’s may be drawn from U19 as long as they are 18 years of age or older and have a signed permission form from their coach. All TP’s must be 18 or older and a registered RMA player. Only Rostered players will be allowed to play in Provincials.
