Happy Birthday Samuel Perry Jacks (1915-75). Sam Jacks was the inventor of #ringette, a sport which now averages over 50,000 players annually in Canada.
His wife, Agnes (1923-2005), with her immense dedication and passion for the sport is responsible for growing the game to where it is today. Currently, organized ringette is played in Canada, Finland, Sweden, United States, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia.
Sam was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
Agnes was named to the Order of Canada in 2002.
