AA Tryout Registration Begins

2017 / 2018 AA Tryouts
All players wishing to play AA must register online directly through Ringette Manitoba’s online registration system, not with their local association. Manual registrations will not be accepted.
Registrations open March 1 and close on April 3, 2017 (11:59pm) for a fee of $85.00.
*Late registrations received from April 4 to 8 will be assessed $50.00.
*Late registrations received from April 9 to 12 will be assessed $100.00.
Absolutely NO registrations will be accepted after April 12th.
The AA tryouts for the 2017 – 2018 season will be held from April 17 – 29th at Southdale Arena. ANY ATHLETE WISHING TO PLAY IN THE AA PROGRAM MUST REGISTER AND ATTEND TRYOUTS.
If a player is unable to attend tryouts they will be excused for the following reasons only:
-family death or health emergency
-school sanctioned event (not including the high school ringette tournament)
-sickness or injury, accompanied by a doctor’s note
-religious beliefs
All absentees must be written and provided to the tryout coordinator, Tami Bain (tamibain@hotmail.com) and AA Chair, Penny Lesperance (brettpen@mts.net) as soon as you are aware of an absence. The AA committee will determine a fair evaluation for these players. However, if a player does not attend tryouts for the reasons noted above their score could prevent placement on a AA team.
U14AA – (Born 04 / 05) – We anticipate having 4 teams at the U14 age level
U16AA – (Born 02 / 03) – We anticipate having 3 teams at the U16 age level. The intent of the AA committee is to form 4 teams at this age group if registration numbers are sufficient and skills are considered at a AA level. The final determination of the number of U16AA teams will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.
U19AA – (Born 99 / 00 / 01) – The intent of the AA committee is to form three (3) teams at the U19 age level. The final determination of the U19 team formation will not be made until tryout registration numbers are submitted and skills can be evaluated.
The 2017 – 18 AA tryouts will be operated in a centrally coordinated manner, so that evaluation of the athlete is consistent. After tryouts are complete, teams formed, all athletes who were not selected will be required to return to their home association. If a player is selected to play on a team outside of their catchment area and the player declines to play, they will not be selected to another AA team and will return to their home association. It is the intent of the AA committee to allow all AA evaluated players to have the opportunity to be selected for a AA team.
