Athlete Advisory Committee

What is the RMB Athlete Advisory Committee?

The AAC acts as an informed advisor to the Ringette Manitoba Community in the implementation of policies and changes as it pertains to athletes. The committee reports to the Ringette Manitoba Professional Staff who are aligned to the committee and does not have independent decision-making authority. Members of the committee should bring perspective from all areas of Ringette Manitoba including youth, adult, recreation and competitive. Ringette Manitoba will provide support through administration, marketing and deliverables as requested by the committee.

Objective

  • Bring athlete concerns to attention
  • Advise athletes on policy changes put forward by the board
  • Ask ringette athletes their concerns/opinions on topics such as inclusion, playing boundaries, safety, competition structure, etc.

The Committee will:

  • Provide a report to the board for each board meeting
  • Advise athletes on policy changes put forward by the board
  • Bring forward Ringette athletes concern
  • Present an annual report to the members at the AGM

Members

  • Serve for 2 years
  • 1 year of committee half of the member will be offered 1 year terms, half of the member will be offered 2 year terms
  • Ever year going forward will be 2 year terms
  • Members will be nominated by their association. These individuals must:
    • Be registered with RMB in the capacity of a player, exceptions would be made for former CWG or National Team players
    • Be in good standing with their local association
    • Complete the application form

Committee to be comprised of:

  • 1 Chairperson
  • 3 Positions held by members 17 and under
  • 4 Positions are held by members over 18
  • Ex officio – Executive Director – non voting member

Distribution of Members

  • North
  • South
  • East
  • West
  • City
  • In the event a region does not have representation, one additional representative from any region may be included, but may not be from the participants in a division with a current member
  • The chair of the committee will gaps and requirements to recruit a position to the committee EX. MB Games

Age Level of Members

12-17 Years

  • AA Level
  • A Level
  • B Level
  • C Level

18 and over

  • CWG
  • Junior or Senior National Team
  • Open
  • 35+

Non registered athletes may be included on the committee, who participated at AAA/National programs.

Chair

The Chairperson will:

  • Call meetings of the committee
  • Deliver athlete reports to the board
  • Designate a co-chair to the committee should the chairperson be absent
  • Attend the AGM
  • Serve a 2 year term at which time they may be re-elected for a maximum of 4 years.

Meetings

Meetings will be held quarterly (4x a year). Three meetings will be online with one in person.
