Respect in Sport

Sport Manitoba has launched a new Respect in Sport website.  The new website includes a brand new e-module with entirely new content. With the launch of this website, coaches will be required to recertify on a five year cycle.
The Coaching Association of Canada is partnering with Respect in Sport which means it will be accepted as points for professional development and will appear on the coach’s transcript.
Please note that the Parent Respect in Sport is not transferrable as an activity leader. You must complete the activity leader version if you are a member of a team’s bench staff.

How does this impact Ringette coaches?

Currently all team staff are required to complete Respect in Sport. The 2016/2017 season will be a communication year to make sure coaches are aware of the change. During that time they are able to go on and recertify if they choose. For the 2017/2018 season, all bench staff will be expected to complete recertification before January 15th in order to be considered completely trained or certified.
